Delhi Police busts Chinese knives smuggling racket, 5 arrested

New Delhi, July 28 (ANI): Busting the smuggling racket of illegal button-actuated knives from china, Delhi Police has arrested 5 accused identified as Mohd. Sahil, Wasim, Mohd. Yusuf, Ashish Chawla and Mayank Babbar. A total of 14,053 illegal button-actuated knives were recovered from their possession. PCR call was received which reported button-actuated knives being dropped in a courier package. With meticulous and persistent backtracking, police reached the direct importer of this contraband and have so far recovered 14,053 prohibited, China-made, button-activated knives. During the investigation, CCTV footage of the spot revealed that the bag had fallen off the motorcycle of a delivery boy. However, it was found that each recovered knife was packed in a courier packet, having the sender’s details and address in the Malviya Nagar area. Immediately, a raid was conducted at the mentioned address and two persons Mohd. Sahil and Wasim were apprehended, who were present in a Godown. On checking the Godown, a total of 533 more illegal button-actuated knives were recovered. In their instance, the rest of the accused were also arrested. They used to sell these knives through online platforms.
