Delhi Police celebrates closing ceremony of Self-Defence Training Summer Camp

New Delhi, June 27 (ANI): Delhi Police celebrated the closing ceremony of the 18th Sashakti Self Defense Training Summer Camp at Thyagraj Indoor Stadium in Delhi. More than 3,000 school girls and women participated in the event. Famous Marathon runners Dr Sunita Godara, Indian Boxers Pooja Rani and Arundhati Choudhary graced the occasion and motivated the participants. On the occasion, Commissioner of Police, Delhi Rakesh Asthana, interacted with the participants and spoke about the benefits of self defence training for girls and women in the city. During the programme, Asmita Theatre Group presented a street play which portrayed the challenges faced by women in society. The street play was followed by a glittering performance by participants and the Self Defense Team of Delhi Police Special Unit for Women and Children. CP Delhi also distributed Certificates and Mementos to participants, School Representatives, Doctors and Special Guests for the function. The Special Police Unit for Women and Children of Delhi Police organised 10 days long 18th Summer Camp - 2022 to impart Self Defence Techniques Training to college and school going girls, working women and housewives in Delhi with a view to empower them through training in martial arts at different places in Delhi.
