ECI to launch 2-month-long campaign in Tripura to link Voter ID with Aadhar

Agartala (Tripura), July 31 (ANI): Following the decision taken by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to link the Voted ID with the Aadhar number, Tripura Chief Electoral Officer Gitte Kirankumar Dinkarrao on July 30 said that state booth officers will launch door-to-door campaign from August 1 to collect the Aadhar numbers of 27 lakh voters in the state. “ECI took a decision to link the Voted ID cards with Aadhar numbers, so our booth officers will go door-to-door from August 1 to collect the Aadhar numbers of 27 lakh voters in the state within the next 2 months,” he said. “This collection of Aadhar numbers will be kept only in the database of the election department. It will not be published in the public domain. Aadhar numbers will not appear in the voters list/slip. All voters requested to share their Aadhar numbers with booth officers,” he added.
