Female paper mache artisans get govt registration after 6-month training in Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 12 (ANI): Eighty female paper mache artisans who completed their six months training in Srinagar were given government registration. Department of Handicrafts gave the training to the artisans. Female artisans can now apply for bank loans and they can start their own small paper mache manufacturing units. The beneficiaries appreciated and hailed the department for this initiative. The objective of the training was to promote centuries old art in the Kashmir valley. Kashmiri art is famous across the world and has its own importance. But these artisans were facing a lot of problems in the last three decades. The training and government registration were given with an intention to revive this art in the Kashmir valley.
