Jalpaiguri (WB) March 31 (ANI): Cyclone wreaked havoc in parts of WB’s Jalpaiguri as rain and hailstorms hit area causing major damage to life and property. As many as five people have lost their lives over 100 got injured as weather’s wrath on March 31. JGMCH Medical Superintendent said that as many as 49 are admitted and over 170 patients reported in emergency department. Taking to ‘X’, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee assured supporting affected families and compensation to them. She visited Jalpaiguri to take stock of the situation and also met the victims at the hospital. WB Governor CV Ananda Bose also set up an emergency cell at Raj Bhavan to deal with storm in Jalpaiguri. Further details will follow.
