Ganesh Chaturthi 2024: 42,000 women gather in Pune to recite Ganapati Atharvashirsa

Pune, September 8 (ANI): On the second day of the ongoing Ganesh festival, the premises of Shrimant Dagadusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple reverberated with holy chants as more than 42,000 women gathered there to recite Ganpati 'Atharvasirsa' prayers on September 08. Women recited Ganpati 'Atharvashirsha' as part of the Ganeshotsav celebration on the occasion of Rishi Panchami, the second day of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganesh Mandal. To participate in the traditional recital, women from across the city gathered near the Pandal early morning in traditional attire and attended the prayers. The Ganesh Chaturthi festival is celebrated every year with great fervour, with thousands of devotees thronging temples and pandals for the darshan of the Lord Ganesha. The festival celebrates Ganesha as the God of New Beginnings and the remover of obstacles as well as the God of wisdom and intelligence. The Treasurer of Dagduseth Halwai Ganpati Trust, Mahesh Suryawanshi said, “On the festival of Rishi Panchami, 42,000 women performed pooja. India World Record also took cognizance of it and has given us a certificate...”
