Geneva: Book explaining Pakistan Army’s act in 1971 Liberation War released

Geneva (Switzerland), March 24 (ANI): A book titled “War and Women” depicting war crimes during the Bangladesh Liberation War was released during the 52nd Session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva on March 24 The book is written by Dr M. A. Hasan. He has documented the magnitude of sexual harassment, torture, and killings committed by the Pakistan Army during the 1971 Liberation War. Dr Hasan, author of the book in a video presentation from Dhaka explained the reality of such abuse committed by Pakistani soldiers. The event was joined by freedom fighters of the Liberation War and executive members from International NGOs. Tazul Islam, a Bangladesh freedom fighter based in Zurich, was the chief guest and spoke about the significance of the book, which was a testimony of Bengali women being subjected to atrocities and sexual abuse by the Pakistan Army during the 1971 war. This was termed Genocide.
