Gilgit Baltistan: Protest erupts against poor health system

Astore, Gilgit Baltistan, 01 November, 2022: - Scores of people gathered in Kalshai Tatwan of illegally occupied Gilgit Baltistan’s Astore region to protest against the rapidly deteriorating health system. Locals accused that the authorities had made mockery of the system and the locals were being deprived of even the basic healthcare, let alone secondary and tertiary level health infrastructure. People in far flung areas are required to travel hours in order to receive even the basic medical attention. A drop in mercury between the months of October and February makes the situation even worse, when the transport industry too takes a hit.
