Ganderbal (J&K), Feb 26 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir government organised a 7-day special training program in collaboration with Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises at Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST) in Ganderbal. The program aimed at maintaining quality of Kashmiri Pashmina products that have a specific identity on the International level. The program was attended by students and artisans of the National Institute of Fashion Technology. Kashmiri Pashmina Shawls and other products have huge demand on National and International markets due to their purity. For the last few years, government received some complaints from customers regarding duplicate products made by fake artisans. That’s why, a few years back, govt did Geographical Indication (GI) tagging for the safety of Pashmina and to gain the trust of customers. Participants were very much satisfied and demanded that such types of training programs should continue to maintain quality of Pashmina products.
