Heeramandi actor Anuj Sharma shares behind-the-scenes insights in exclusive interview with ANI

Mumbai, May 05 (ANI): In a recent exclusive interview with ANI, Heeramandi actor Anuj Sharma shared insights about working in a Sanjay Leela Bhansali set and he also talked about how he landed the role of antagonist in Bhansali’s epic saga “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar”. During the interview, he revealed that at first his audition was rejected. But later he got a call about Bhansali wanting to meet him. He said, “I went to Film City and I met with Sir. He said in front of the whole unit that I was his lucky charm. This was a very big compliment for me.” Through the stories of courtesans and their patrons, the series delves deep into the cultural reality of Heeramandi. It features Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal, Taha Shah Badussha, Shekhar Suman, and Adhyayan Suman. Talking about his experience with co-actors, Anuj said, “I enjoyed working with everyone”. Set against the backdrop of the Indian freedom struggle of the 1940s, the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directed series promises to be an epic saga of love, power, revenge, and freedom. “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar” is currently streaming on Netflix.
