HM Shah extends ban on Yasin Malik’s outfit JKLF-Y for “fomenting terror and secessionism in J&K”

New Delhi, March 16 (ANI): MHA on March 16 extended the ban on the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (Mohd. Yasin Malik faction). JKLF has been declared as an 'unlawful association' under UAPA for a further period of five years. As per the fresh report received by the MHA, the JKLF-Y is still involved in anti-national and subversive activities. Home Minister Amit Shah also took to X and shared the information. Yasin Malik led the banned outfit called Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front-Yasin faction as its chief. Malik is currently serving life imprisonment in Tihar Jail in a terror funding case. Further, four factions of Jammu Kashmir People’s League were declared ‘unlawful associations’. Home Minister Amit Shah in a post on ‘X’ wrote that Modi govt is committed to suppressing terrorism ruthlessly.
