Huge unrest among locals following Rajouri terror attacks; investigation continues

Rajouri (J&K), Jan 03 (ANI): National Investigation Agency (NIA) team on January 03 conducted an investigation at Rajouri's Upper Dhangri village where 6 civilians, including a child, were killed in the terror attacks. 12 people were injured in the attacks which happened in the Dhangri village of Rajouri district. Four civilians, including a father-son duo, were gunned down by terrorists who barged into their homes in Dhangri village on the night of January 01. Hours later an improvised explosive device (IED) went off around 9 am on January 02 at the house of one of the victims. The blast killed two minors and injured 12. These separate attacks are the third such incidents of civilian killings in the Rajouri district in the past two weeks after two people were killed outside an Army camp on December 16. The firing was done by two terrorists at three houses separated at a distance of around 50 meters from each other in upper Dhangri village. ADGP Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh confirmed that two terrorists were involved in the attack. “2 terrorists came and targeted 3 houses in the upper Dhangri area. Search operation on. Police, CRPF, and Army troops have cordoned off the area. We'll try to neutralise the 2 terrorists soon,” said the ADGP Jammu Zone, Mukesh Singh after the attack on December 02. The attack created huge anti-Pak sentiments among the locals. Irate over the attacks, victims' relatives and other villagers protested at Dhangri Chowk with the bodies when they received them from the GMC hospital. Kashmiri Pandits staged a protest on January 02 in Jammu. Dogra Front staged a protest against the firing incident and IED blast and burnt Pakistan’s flag in Jammu. On January 03, Locals of Dhangri village paid their last respects to the deceased of the terror attack. A large number of people gathered together to bid a final goodbye and participated in the last rites.
