The event was focused on promoting sustainable and large-scale tourism in the Kashmir Valley, with an emphasis on planning future strategies to strengthen eco-tourism. During the meeting, it was highlighted that the tourism industry is the backbone of Kashmir's economy. IATO has been actively conducting roadshows and other promotional activities across the country to attract tourists to the valley. The organization has made it a priority to hold its annual meetings at various tourist destinations to showcase the region’s hospitality and natural beauty. Given the record-breaking influx of tourists over the past two years, the need for sustainable tourism practices has become increasingly important. The AGM stressed the importance of expanding tourism beyond the popular destinations of Gulmarg, Pahalgam, and Sonmarg, with the government already announcing new areas for tourists to explore.
