ICMR-NIRT conducting study to reduce treatment duration of drug-sensitive TB

Chennai, July 05 (ANI): Indian Council of Medical Research- National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis (ICMR-NIRT) Director Dr Padmapriyadarsini C on July 04 said that NIRT is conducting studies to reduce the treatment duration of drug-sensitive Tuberculosis (TB) from 6 months to 4 months. “Our institute is doing studies to reduce the treatment duration of drug-sensitive Tuberculosis (TB) from 6 months to 4 months and drug-resistant TB to 6 months. Both the studies are being done for adults and adolescents,” she said.
