“India accomplished a lot in climate change area”: Indian Envoy ahead of PM Modi’s visit to Dubai

Dubai (UAE), Nov 30 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay a two-day visit to Dubai on November 30 and December 1 to attend the World Climate Action Summit, a global summit on climate change that will focus on reducing emissions and supporting developing countries in dealing with extreme weather events. The World Climate Action Summit is the High-Level Segment of the 28th Conference of Parties (COP28) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Notably, COP28 is being held from November 28 - December 12 under the Presidency of the UAE. Talking about the PM’s visit to Dubai, Indian Ambassador to UAE Sanjay Sudhir said, “PM Modi will be arriving in less than 24 hours from now. We’re not only well prepared, we are all looking forward to his visit, COP28 is a significant occasion. The last time India had attended COP28 was in Glasgow, and since then India has accomplished a lot in the climate change area. In the G20 statement, there was a substantial content on climate change...UAE has played a significant role in renewables...we have one of the largest solar firms in the world, investing greatly in green hydrogen...we are trying to make this COP a COP of action...”
