India expected to report 5 lakh COVID-19 cases in single day during peak next month: Expert

Washington DC (USA), Jan 08 (ANI): India will witness a peak in the number of COVID-19 cases by next month with the expectation of reporting five lakh cases per day, said a US-based health expert. Director of Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), Washington Dr Christopher Murray on January 07 said, “In India, we expect about 5 lakh cases during peak which should come during next month. Omicron is less severe and will have much less hospitalization and deaths than you had in Delta variant.”
