New Delhi, December 01 (ANI): Addressing the G20 Sherpa at the G20 University Connect Programme in Delhi, External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar on December 01 said that India must become the voice of the Global south during the G20 presidency. “It's time when we must become the voice of the global south, which is otherwise under-represented in such forums. Countries in Asia, Africa, and Latin America trust India to speak up for them. We've off late been at forefront of expressing their concerns on fuel, food, fertilizers,” said S Jaishankar. “There are very good reasons why today’s world is taking a much deeper interest in us. G20 presidency offers an opportunity to share our story with others, particularly those who may transpose some of our experiences on their performance or challenges,” he said. “We too share the apprehension that sustainable development, climate action, and climate justice could be side-tracked due to more dominant issues,” he added.
