India prioritise to focus on international community issues in UNSC: TS Tirumurti

New York (USA), Aug 02 (ANI): The Ambassador of India to the United Nations, TS Tirumurti stated that India’s priority in UNSC is on issues that are directly relevant to international community such as international terrorism, peacekeeping, etc. “Conflicts have increased in COVID-19 times, putting considerable pressure on UN Peacekeepers and resources. In this scenario, India's priority in UN, particularly in UNSC, has a very clear focus on issues that are directly relevant to international community. For example, international terrorism, peacekeeping, enhancing international peace and security, sensitivity to developing country issues especially Africa and small states, reformed multilateralism, and furthering the agenda of women and human-centric development,” said the Ambassador of India to the United Nations, TS Tirumurti. India has assumed the presidency of United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the month of August.
