Indian Army conducts recruitment rally for Army Porters Company in North Kashmir

Baramulla (J&K), June 6 (ANI): In co-ordination with the Civil Administration and with an aim to generate fair job opportunities for the local youth of Kashmir Valley, the Indian Army organized a Recruitment Rally at Uri for 600 vacancies of Army Porters. A large number of aspirants from Jammu and Kashmir, including the locals of Uri and adjoining areas from remote areas of Baramulla district and other districts participated in the rally, to enroll as porters for Army Porter Company. The recruited porters will be provided all assistance, including medical facilities, food etc to ensure their well-being during the period of their services. This endeavour by the Army is to provide job opportunities to the local populace, as well as select porters to aid the Army in its logistics in the Kalapahar Brigade area. These applicants lauded this step taken by the Indian army as these types of programmes will help youth of border areas to earn their livelihood. The candidates were assured and witnessed the fairness of conduct. The locals were overwhelmed with the professional conduct, a wonderful opportunity to serve the Nation and support the men in uniform along the borders in discharging their duties.
