Indian Army holds inter-school pipe band competition in Srinagar

Srinagar, August 03 (ANI): An inter-school pipe band competition was held by the Indian Army in association with the Directorate of School Education Kashmir at the indoor stadium in Srinagar. Out of the 12 schools that took part in this band competition, the three winning bands will perform in the upcoming Independence Day function on August 15 in Srinagar. The main motive of this competition was to choose the best three bands which can perform on Independence Day. The Directorate of School Education started this initiative to attract the children towards these bands in schools so that more talent of these bands come out and more bands will perform in their school functions and in other functions. The students from different schools were also invited to take part in this competition. The education department wants to introduce this band in every school so that more school children take part in these bands and start using bands in schools.
