Speaking to ANI, Additional Professor of AIIMS Department of Medicine Piyush Ranjan said, “Monkeypox symptoms are like Smallpox, Chickenpox. At onset, patient will have fever, enlargement of lymph nodes. After 1-5 days patient may report rashes on face, palms and soles. They may have rashes in cornea leading to blindness.” “Monkeypox virus transmits from animals to human beings by close contact or through face-to-face contact with infected people for a longer duration.
