Cambridge (UK), Oct 14 (ANI): Indian-origin economist Abhijit Banerjee, who was awarded Nobel Prize 2019 for Economics for experimental approach to alleviating global poverty in UK, said it is wonderful to get the prize particularly because it is for the entire movement. He won the award jointly with wife Esther Duflo and another economist Michael Kremer. “It is wonderful to get this prize. It is a prize for the entire movement,” said Banerjee. Esther Duflo said, “We are working on larger projects and the results that we are finding will lead to state wise scale up.” Abhijit Banerjee and Esther Duflo, professors of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Michael Kremer of Harvard University were awarded the 2019 Nobel Prize in Economics “for their experimental approach to alleviating global poverty.”
