J-K: E-bikes to take over streets of picturesque Srinagar city

Srinagar, Dec 14 (ANI): ‘Curve Electric’, a group of Kashmiri youth launched an E-bike venture in Srinagar. It was launched in collaboration with Srinagar Smart City Limited (SSCL). The purpose of the initiative is to tackle the pollution problem and reduce traffic jams and the huge volume of vehicles. They launched 50 E-bikes at 12 docking stations in the city. The docking stations were set up at Islamia College, Dalgate, Botanical Garden, Nishat, Kashmir University, and other places. These E-bikes are GPS enabled and the maximum speed of these bikes is 25 km per hour. These battery-driven cycles can run up to 55kms per charge. It can be available by showing the Aadhar Card and phone number. These two-wheelers had the potential to become a compelling alternative for commuters who are being discouraged from taking public transportation. For those looking for leisure rides, the bikes could provide much-needed fresh air. Authorities had also permitted these group to run 200 E-bikes.
