Jal Jeevan Mission in full swing in Pulwama district of South Kashmir

Pulwama (J&K), Nov 22 (ANI): Implementation of the Centre’s scheme Jal Jeevan Mission is in full swing in the Pulwama district of South Kashmir. The initiative was taken by the Jal Shakti Department. The purpose of the project is to provide drinking water supply to the villagers within 24 hours. Presently, the construction work is in full pace on a new water tank and filtration plant in Awantipora town of Pulwama district. So far, many villages of the valley have been covered under the mission and work is also going on in other villages of the district. The estimated cost of the project is around 5.5 crore and around 20,000 households will benefit once the project is completed. Villagers lauded the step taken by the Jammu and Kashmir administration. It will also give relief to the 25 villagers as it was long pending demand of the villagers who were facing drinking water shortage during summers.
