J&K: Asia largest lake ‘Wular Lake’ freezes partially due to minus temp in Bandipora

Bandipora (J&K), Dec 26 (ANI): Asia’s largest lake ‘Wular Lake’ freezed partially after years due to minus temperature in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora. As per the heritage and historical point of view, Bandipora is famous due to Wular Lake which has its own importance and considering it the largest lake of Asia. During summer, number of people cultivates water nuts while in winter, they produce lotus stamps known as ‘Nadroo’ which results this lake generates employment for hundreds of people. When forty days of harsh winter period known as ‘Chillai Kalan’ started from December with unexpected minus temperature which results big portion of Asia’s largest ‘Wular Lake’ freezes with foggy look. People of all districts have been facing a lot of problems due to the minus temperature. However, India Meteorological Department has been expecting some relief in the shape of rainfall from the first week of January.
