Pulwama (J&K), Nov 27 (ANI): Construction of a bypass on National Highway 444 (NH-444) and the macadamization of roads underway in Pulwama district of South Kashmir. It aimed at improving transportation and connectivity in the region. NH-444 is a vital route connecting Jammu and Kashmir, facilitating the movement of goods and passengers across the state. However, heavy traffic congestion, especially in urban areas, has posed significant challenges to smooth travel. The construction of a bypass will redirect traffic, reducing congestion and enhancing road safety for both local commuters and long-distance travelers. In addition to the bypass, the macadamization of existing roads in Pulwama is being undertaken to improve road quality. Notably, Macadamization is the process of applying multiple layers of crushed stone and bitumen, which enhances the durability and smoothness of roads. It expected to minimize wear and tear on vehicles, improve fuel efficiency, and reduce travel time. These projects are part of a broader effort by the government to boost regional development, reduce traffic jams, and provide better infrastructure for residents and visitors.
