J&K govt organises workshop on promotion of fishing culture in Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 10 (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir government organised specific workshop cum awareness programs on the promotion of fishing culture in Kashmir. It was organised by the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) in collaboration with the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST). The objective was to educate the youths in adopting the fish culture and create a source of employment for them. Many participants from Fish Farmers Producers Organizations (FFPO) attended the awareness program. Experts from the fisheries department gave different lectures and showed some special documentaries about fish farming. Participants also learned a lot of things regarding how to start or develop their business units in fish farming and which type of opportunities including grants and schemes are available for them. In this way, they can take more benefits and involve other people in fish farming to earn their livelihood.
