J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board holds awareness camp in Srinagar

Srinagar, Dec 28 (ANI): Jammu & Kashmir Khadi and Village Industries Board (J&K KVIB) held awareness camp in Srinagar. The objective was to make the aspiring entrepreneurs join in in the economic development of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and improve their standard of living. Many aspiring entrepreneurs and unemployed educated youths of urban areas from downtown Srinagar participated in the camp. District Officers KVIB Srinagar, officers from different nationalized banks viz J&K Bank, SBI, PNB, etc and other senior officers of the Board also took part to aware the youths and other sector of people. They gave brief details about various initiatives being taken up to promote "Ease of Doing by the Government with regard Business". They also told about the benefits of Prime Minister's Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) scheme which was extended to the youth/artisans of urban areas especially youth. The officers assured them that the government is committed to extend every type of hand-holding support for development of Micro-Industrial Sector in Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir. They requested the educated youths to come forward to take benefit of the scheme. Under the PMEGP scheme, J&K KVIB established 559 units involving Margin Money of Rs 9.02 Crores during the current financial year out of which nearly 200 units have been established in urban areas.
