Geneva (Switzerland), Mar 24 (ANI): Recounting the ‘infrastructural growth’ taking place in Jammu and Kashmir, socio-political activist Tasleema Akhtar on March 23 in Switzerland’s Geneva credited the municipal bodies for laying the foundation for development of the Valley which have emerged as ‘propellers of growth’. Going on about the improved conditions pertaining the road connectivity and electricity availability, Akhtar informed that the said facilities have also reached the most remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir. “As Jammu and Kashmir gears up for elections under a new administrative setup, the foundation for development has been laid by its municipal bodies which emerged as propellers of growth and infrastructure,” Akhtar said. “Electricity and roads have finally penetrated even the last of the remaining villages in J and K’s remote areas. Development works worth $700 million are under progress now and Jammu and Kashmir have received investment applications of an equal amount as well,” she added. The praise was garnered by J&K during the 52nd Session of the UNHRC in Geneva by the activist.
