Hyderabad Jan 05 (ANI): Minister of Industries and Commerce in Telangana KT Rama Rao participated in a workshop on ‘Pattana Pragathi’ with Additional Commissioners of Local Bodies and Municipal Commissioners at the MCR Government Institute in Hyderabad on January 05. Pattana Pragathi is a developmental project that focuses on the upliftment of urban street vendors through the PM SVANidhi scheme in Telangana. The key objective behind this Project is to help the urban street vendors through PM SVANidhi Scheme, in getting back on their feet financially, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdowns which left the daily wage workers and street vendors out of work. In the long term, it aims at establishing a credit score for the vendors as well as creating a digital record of their socio-economic status, so that they can avail the benefits of Central and State Government schemes. The project also attempts to formalise the informal sector of the economy and provide them with safety nets and a means of availing loans in the future.
