Locals in Ghizer raise concern over poor infra, blame Govt. for inaction

Ghizer, Gilgit Baltistan, 24 May 2022: - Villages of illegally occupied Gilgit Baltistan have been for long suffering at the hands of inefficient administration. Though blessed with an abundance of natural beauty and resources, they are lying in the most deteriorated state. One such village is located in the Ghizer district. Home to around 300 households, the village has been completely ignored by the district administration. The somewhat infrastructure that the village has, is also due to the efforts of local people and not that of authorities. This bridge which was built by locals several years ago is today lying in a very dilapidated condition. Despite repeated pleas, the administration has failed to take any action, and thus to date; it’s the locals who are maintaining the bridge. But as hundreds of vehicles and people pass over the bridge on a daily basis, locals are afraid that it can collapse at any time.
