New Delhi, October 04 (ANI): Amid the India-Maldives conflict, Maldivian President Muizzu is likely to visit India on Oct 07. Maldivian Prez is likely to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the first time after conflict between the two nations. Earlier in New York Muizzu announced his intention to visit India “as soon as possible” on sidelines of UNGA. He emphasized “very strong” bilateral relationship between two countries during a conversation with ANI. The Muizzu government in Maldives took reconciliatory tone after ties with India soured, leading to a diplomatic row. Muizzu has taken several steps that have been unconventional from the point of view of India-Maldives ties. He ran his whole presidential campaign on the lines of 'India Out'. The removal of Indian troops from the country was the main election campaign of Muizzu's party. However, it is noteworthy that President Muizzu attended ‘Modi 3.0’ swearing in ceremony in June 2024.
