Ministry of Civil Aviation Sets Up Medical Inspection Room at Headquarters

New Delhi, [30 October 2024]: In a significant move towards enhancing workplace health and safety, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has inaugurated a dedicated Medical Inspection Room at its headquarters Rajiv Gandhi Bhavan in New Delhi. Inaugurated virtually by Union Minister for Civil Aviation, Rammohan Naidu, the facility aims to provide primary healthcare support to employees during office hours.Addressing the gathering, Union Minister Rammohan Naidu emphasized the importance of employee well-being in fostering productivity. He said "Our ministry has always been at the forefront of addressing the Swachh Bharat issue. This year, we have taken it a step further by creating this special facility to address the medical needs of our employees. I firmly believe that a productive workforce is essential for achieving our goals, and that requires taking care of the mental and physical well-being of our employees."Vipin Kumar, Chairman of the Airports Authority of India, also hailed the initiative calling it a significant step forward. Highlighting the need of such facility he said " sometimes, medical emergencies arise during work hours, and the absence of nearby medical facilities can lead to serious consequences. Keeping this in mind, and based on the directives of the Honorable Minister, we have established this Medical Inspection Room. The medical staff will be available to provide immediate assistance and refer employees to nearby hospitals if necessary. While we hope that such situations are rare, this facility will be a valuable resource for our employees."The Medical Inspection Room is staffed by a qualified doctor and nurse, and is equipped with essential medical tools, a waiting area, and a private examination room for immediate health needs. By setting up this Medical Inspection Room, the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Airport Authority of India have reinforced their commitment to creating a safe, healthy, and supportive workplace for all employees. This initiative underscores the importance of prioritizing employee well-being and highlights the government's proactive approach to addressing workplace health and safety concerns.
