Jun 29, 2023
St Petersburg (Russia), June 28 (ANI/ TV BRICS): A genius of Russian and world literature, but at times a completely ordinary man with passions and weaknesses, exploits and vices, love and hate. An hour and a half of make-up - curls, sideburns, nose. Vitaly Sobolev, a soloist of the opera company, admits that he is especially thrilled with his character. That is why the casting was very exciting. A year and a half later the artist is onstage at the palace of arts in the Leningrad region, singing in French. The story is based on the fate of a poet and writer. Alexander Pushkin's Lycée youth, his life in St. Petersburg, his exile in Mikhailov Skoye and Odessa, Moscow, his search for a bride, his marriage... The series of events is lined up with documentary precision. It took 15 years for the musical to see the light and hear the applause of the audience. The story of Alexander Pushkin's life is told by the Leningrad Oblast Symphony orchestra and members of the St. Petersburg state philharmonic for children and youth. The artistic director and principal conductor is Mikhail Golikov. The musical content of the performance is multi-genre: classical, jazz, rap and, of course, the powerful sound of rock'n'roll love melody. Creative experimentation is not just with the music. The French officer Georges Charles Dantes, the man who in real life mortally wounded Alexander Pushkin in a duel, appeared before the audience in an unexpected guise. And, to everyone's astonishment, according to the play's plot, he had an affair with Natalia Goncharova - the great Russian poet and writer's wife. The finale of the production was also unpredictable. Full immersion in the era and in the stylistics of different genres, full house at the premiere of the musical "Pushkin, Rock, Love" gives reason to believe that the path to it, as well as the works of Alexander Sergeyevich, will not overgrow.
