Narendra Modi cooperated with SIT probe into 2002 Gujarat riots: Amit Shah
Jun 25, 2022
New Delhi, June 25 (ANI): A day after the Supreme Court dismissed a plea filed by Zakia Jafri, widow of former Congress MP Ehsan Jafri, challenging the clean chit given by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to then Chief Minister Narendra Modi and several others in the 2002 Gujarat riots, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on June 25 said that PM Modi didn't do drama while appearing before SIT for 2002 Gujarat riots and he cooperated in the investigation. In an exclusive interview with ANI, the Home Minister said, “Modi Ji didn't do drama while appearing before SIT (for 2002 Gujarat riots)- come out in my support, call MLAs-MPs and stage a dharna. We believed we should cooperate in the legal procedure. If SIT wants to question CM, he himself is ready to cooperate. Why protest?”
