NCW Chairperson calls Marathi actor's arrest ‘a political vendetta’

New Delhi, June 18 (ANI): The National Commission for Women Chairperson Rekha Sharma on June 17 held a hearing on Marathi actor Ketaki Chitale, who was arrested for allegedly sharing a derogatory post on Facebook against Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Chief Sharad Pawar and said that the police should not act based on ‘political vendetta’. While talking to ANI, Rekha Sharma said, “Police didn't take action against NCP workers who physically assaulted the actress. No defamation complaint from Sharad Pawar personally, it came from the party. Unless the complaint doesn't come from the concerned person, it's not cognizable. On what grounds did they arrest. The case is in the court now, but it's a political vendetta entirely.”
