Nepal: Indian Embassy in Kathmandu marks 75th Republic Day with patriotic fervor

Kathmandu (Nepal), Jan 26 (ANI): The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu on Friday celebrated the 75th Republic Day in Kathmandu. Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava unfurled the national flag during the ceremony. Hundreds of Indian citizens residing in Nepal attended the ceremony where Indian President Droupadi Murmu's speech was screened, which was organised on the Embassy's lawn. Referring to Indian President Murmu's speech, the Indian Ambassador declared that India wants to be among the developed countries in 25 years; in the process, the Indian Chief of Mission reaffirmed that the country's neighbours would also be given priority. On the occasion of the 75th Republic Day, the Indian Ambassador distributed books to 30 Nepali educational institutions. Also, insurance amounts were handed over to next-to-kin of fallen Gurkha soldiers who lost their lives on the line of their duty. The celebrations witnessed renditions of patriotic songs and performances by students of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre of the Embassy and Kendriya Vidyalaya School, Kathmandu.
