Nepal PM Deuba assures three-tier elections within a year

Kathmandu (Nepal), Jan 23, 2021, (ANI): In an address to the nation on completion of six months in power, Nepal Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has vowed to hold three tier election within a year asking the electoral body of the Himalayan nation to start preparing for it. Referring to obstruction in house by opposition and stalled amendment bills in lower house Prime Minister Deuba also promised to resolve all the issues beforehand. However, Deuba didn’t mention when it would be held or of which would be held first. The ruling coalition has been debating over holding election of local or federal levels first which increasing speculation about government’s motive. But announcement of Deuba comes amid the blame of opposition when the Prime Minister is being alleged of making attempts to skip deadline set by constitution to hold the local level election.
