Nepal PM Oli warns of lockdown as COVID-19 cases surge

Kathmandu (Nepal), April 14 (ANI): Amid rising cases of coronavirus disease in the Himalayan Nation, Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has warned of possible lockdown in coming days. Marking the occasion of Nepali New Year, KP Sharma Oli urged people to follow COVID-19 protocols as second wave infection is surging in Nepal. Nepal has witnessed a surge in COVID cases in recent days. A total of 2,321,670 tests using Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method has been carried out. Nepal currently hosts active cases of 3,608 with total number of infection standing at 280,984. A total of 274,318 people have recovered from the virus whereas 3,058 people succumbed to the virus.
