New medical college being constructed by J&K Govt in Anantnag

Anantnag (J&K), Apr 12 (ANI): A new medical college is being constructed by the government of Jammu and Kashmir in Anantnag. It consists of girl’s and boy’s hostel including other facilities. Their main aim is not only to serve the medical students of South Kashmir, but also to provide good medical service to the local people. The project is being undertaken by Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC). The estimated cost of the total project is around Rs 139 crores. The project is undertaken in 156 canals with residential quarters of the faculties. According to JKPCC official, ‘We have completed the project worth Rs 53.65crores. All these facilities will be completed by the next year’. Central government has also sanctioned five new medical colleges at Rajouri, Doda, Kathua, Anantnag and Baramulla few years ago. The construction work has already started in Anantang and Baramulla. Local residents are hopeful that once the construction will be completed, it will solve many medical problems of them.
