Odisha: Library made out of discarded bus in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), June 17 (ANI): A library out of an old discarded bus has been set up on the premises of Kala Bhoomi crafts museum in Bhubaneswar. The library has been set up by Bakul Foundation in collaboration with the department of Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts department and SIDAC. This library has over 4,000 books in both Odia and English languages. Speaking about the library, Founder of Bakul Foundation, Sujit Mahapatra said, “The library will also host regular storytelling and art/craft sessions.” “Visitors to Odisha Crafts Museum have a new attraction in the form of an open library in a refurbished OSRTC bus painted on the outside using traditional motifs. The attractive artwork on the outside with Pattachitra motifs promotes the idea of reading,” he added.
