Odisha: Puri drenched in colours of Holi on ‘Dola Purnima’

Puri (Odisha), March 26(ANI): The festival of colours ‘Holi’ was celebrated with great pomp across the country on March 25. There are different traditions regarding this festival in different parts of the country, ‘Dola Purnima’ is one of them. Odisha observes ‘Dola Purnima’ which is celebrated at the end of the six-day swing festival of Goddess Radha and Lord Krishna. Devotees across the nation thronged to Jagannath Temple on this occasion on March 25. ‘Dola Purnima’ also known as Dolo Jatra is a procession where devotees carry a palanquin of Lord Krishna. Devotees apply ‘gulal’ to each other when the procession is taken out in every part of the city.
