Operation Control Centre at Prayagraj monitors freight trains

Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh) July 28 (ANI): Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL) has set up a modern Operation Control Center (OCC) in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh for the smooth operations of goods trains in the Dedicated Freight Corridor. This control centre is one of the largest control centres in the world.The centre acts as the command centre for the entire route length of 1,856 km of Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor. Apart from controlling train operation and power supply, the entire rail system is monitored from here. The OCC has a total built-up area of 13,030 square metres and has been developed on 4.20 acres.A significant characteristic of this centre is a theatre of 1,560 square metres with a video wall of more than 90 square metres. From here one can easily keep an eye on the movement of every train on this route.The building is environment-friendly and equipped with solar power and a rainwater harvesting system.
