Outgoing Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande receives ‘Guard of Honour’ on final day in office

New Delhi, June 30 (ANI): Outgoing Army Chief General Manoj Pande laid a wreath at the National War Memorial and received a Guard of Honour on his final day in office on June 30. General Manoj Pande is retiring after a 26-month tenure, having served as the 29th Chief of Army Staff since April 20, 2022, succeeding General Mukund Narvane. An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, General Manoj Pande was commissioned into the Corps of Engineers (The Bombay Sappers) in December 1982. Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi will assume the role of the 30th Chief of the Army Staff on June 30. Lt Gen Dwivedi is taking over the charge at a time when the Indian Army is undergoing significant modernization through indigenization and structural reforms.
