PM Modi setting example for the world; wears jacket made of recycled material at G7 Summit
May 21, 2023
Hiroshima (Japan), May 21 (ANI): PM Modi on May 21 wore a jacket made of recycled material at the G7 Summit giving strong message of sustainability. Recycled fabric is made by collecting used plastic bottles, crushing and melting them and adding colour and producing yarn. This process cuts the emission drastically at various production levels. Notably, this is not the first time that PM Modi wore a jacket made from recycled plastic bottles. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wore a sleeveless sky-blue jacket in the Parliament. But, it was not an ordinary jacket, the Nehru jacket that was gifted to him by the IOC was made using material recycled from plastic bottles. PM Modi was in Japan to attend the Group of Seven (G7) summit in Japan. The Prime Minister is visiting the East Asian country at the invitation of his Japanese counterpart, Fumio Kishida. PM Modi departed for Papua New Guinea on May 21 after attending the G7 Summit in Hiroshima, Japan. He will be received by the PM of Papua New Guinea upon his arrival at Port Moresby.
