Kangra (Himachal Pradesh), Oct 23 (ANI): Several political leaders and the cricket fraternity on October 23 mourned the sudden death of cricket legend Bishan Singh Bedi. Many political leaders took to X to express their sadness over his death. While expressing his grief, PM Modi noted that Bedi’s passion for cricket was unwavering. Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his condolences to his family and fans. Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on October 23 mourned the demise of former Indian cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi. Talking to ANI, Anurag Thakur said that Bishan Singh Bedi’s death was a big loss to the cricket world. “Former captain of the Indian cricket team, Bishan Singh Bedi is no more with us. It is a very sad news. We stand with his family. When I used to play for Punjab, he was the coach of our Ranji Trophy team. It is a big loss to the cricket world...” said Anurag Thakur. IPL chairman Arun Dhumal said that his contribution to cricket was huge. “It is a big loss to the world of cricket. His contribution to cricket was huge. He had conducted many cricket camps at the Dharmshala stadium,” said Arun Dhumal.
