Srinagar, Nov 08 (ANI): The preservation work of centuries-old carpet script writing is in full swing at the Indian Institute of Carpet Technology (IICT) in Srinagar. It is also known as ‘Taleem’. Kashmiri carpets are very famous across the world due to their purity and unique handwork done by artisans of the valley. It also attracted visitors during peak of the season. But due to modernisation and overall technology, everything is changing which results in the Kashmiri art industry also doing different things to promote this art and keeping it alive for future generations. The present generation is also taking benefit of digital technology in which they are doing all activities through computerisation. So that’s why for the benefit of young artisans and preservation of world-famous Kashmiri carpet, the government started the digitisation of carpet script writing. It is going under the supervision of experts of Indian Institute of Carpet Technology. Presently, they have good material for traditional and handmade script writing which results in converting all the script writing material into digitalisation.
