Protest erupt in Gilgit-Baltistan against alleged rigged elections by PM Imran Khan’s party

Gilgit-Baltistan (Pakistan), Nov 18 (ANI): As results go in favour of Prime Minister Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Gilgit-Baltistan, other political parties hit the streets claiming Assembly polls were rigged. The elections were held on 23 seats of the Legislative Assembly on Nov 15. PTI emerged as the leading party after it bagged nine Legislative Assembly seats. Several political parties accused PTI of rigging the elections and threaten to continue protests. The elections were held amidst relentless protest by people of Gilgit-Baltistan against Pakistan government's ‘illegal occupation’ in the region.
