Rajasthan: 22-month-old diagnosed with rare disease, needs Rs 17.5 Cr injection; parents seek help

Jaipur (Rajasthan), March 04 (ANI): 22-month-old, Hridayansh is fighting the most severe form of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SAM) Type 2. For the treatment, a Rs 17.5 crore injection is needed, for which the family is seeking help from the public. The minor is the son of Naresh Sharma, a sub-inspector stationed at the Mania Police Station in Dholpur. The only treatment for this disease is an injection, known as ‘Zolgensma’, which according to doctors must be administered before 24 months. Meanwhile, parents along with police officials have launched a crowdfunding campaign to save the innocent’s life. So far, over Rs 1 crore and 70 lakhs have been raised for the treatment through the campaign. Dr Priyanshu Mathur, a senior physician at JK Lone Hospital, Jaipur is treating Hridayansh. Hridyansh’s family is ‘hoping for a miracle’ to cure SMA with one of the most expensive drugs in the world.
