Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot flags off 25 hi-tech interceptor vehicles in Jaipur

Jaipur (Rajasthan), Jan 24 (ANI): Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot flagged off 25 hi-tech interceptor vehicles on January 24. Amid rise in road accident, the state government has provided interceptors to the police. Interceptors vehicles are capable of measuring speed and reading vehicle number plates even at night. These vehicles will prove to be effective in curbing road accidents. It has been provided to the Rajasthan Police by the state govt from the Road Safety Fund at a cost of about Rs 5 crore. Equipped with high definition camera it can measure the speed of vehicles from a distance of 1 km. Interceptors are able to recognise the number plates of speeding vehicles from a distance of 250 m during day and 100 m at night.
